WHAT YOU ASK FOR
We use hormetic stress conditioning, exposing your body to short term stress to break up your long term chronic stress. Our group class alternate between sauna and cold plunge and incorporate guided focus and breathing techniques.
Wear something you do not mind getting wet. We provide towels, but feel free to bring your own as well. We always encourage everyone to be well hydrated, so feel free to bring water along as well.
All you have to do is show up in something you do not mind getting wet. We also recommend not consuming alcohol before or after the experience.
You can expect to relax, practice some new breathing patterns, dip in the cold plunge, and warm up in a sauna.
The experience is 50 minutes.
Most people find the greatest benefits when attending the experience at least 2x per week.
Yes! This experience is not an exposure challenge. We are not seeing how long or how hot or cold you can tolerate. The experience follows scientific research on the optimal cold and warm exposures with hormetic stress conditioning.
The cold plunge is maintained between 54-56 degrees Fahrenheit.
The sauna is set to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. The sauna is stadium seating so sitting higher up or away from the door tends to be warmer.
MINDZERØ was created in the middle of a hot and extremely intense training session in the hills of California. Our two original founders signed up for a 75 hour long challenge where they were pushed to their physical and mental limits.
Although many people broke down and dropped out, David Semerad and Bill Miller successfully completed the course and came out physically healthier and more enlightened than either had anticipated. It was through this arduous process the two became friends. As David and Bill’s friendship grew and they looked back on that 75 hour long challenge, they realized what got them to the finish line wasn’t their physical or mental strength but the rest and recovery. At that point, they knew what they had to do. They called George Becker and Dr. Heather Grimm, and MINDZERØ was created.
